[...] Blog Income To Go Under Knife – 23/02/10 At my regular Monday night Internet Marketing Mastermind meeting, I had this blog critiqued. There were lots of good suggestions. The recurring theme of the comments suggested that it looked, well, a bit too cluttered. I had already clued in to this and it was good to have my hunch confirmed. Readers are encouraged to send in more suggestions. Read the full Blog Income article.
Hi Ryan,

Thank you for stopping in. Yes I am looking forward to the redesign. I have heard lots of good things about Thesis so definitely that is one template I will be considering. Thank you so much for the offer to help.

Hey Valentina,

Exciting stuff, are you looking forward to the redesign? I've tried a few templates and even did HTML back in the day, but using Thesis theme for wordpress has made my life a ton easier. I would highly recommend it as a happy customer. If you ever want a second opinion of the site as its going under the knife, feel free to shoot me a message.

Ryan

Thank you Des ... I think I'll experiment with font size even on the current theme and see what happens. It just seems that the size is incogruent with the rest of the site ... something amiss.

Hi Valentina,
if you go to "add plugins" in your WP admin panel, and search for "font", there are several in there you could try out. There appear to be a couple that allow the web site visitor to increase or decrease the font as they wish, which is quite nice.

It's also possible that your new theme may give more control over this anyway, but if not there will usually be font settings in the theme's stylesheet which you could experiment with.

I'm certainly not any sort of WP guru mind, so tread carefully! :-)

Hey Jeffrey,

Good to see you here. Thank you for the suggestion. I have been hearing a lot about Thesis. Are there others that you would recommend I look into?

Des,

That is interesting re font size plugin. Would you know it? If not no worries as I can certainly do a search. I will be going to a completely new theme and have picked out a few that are very simple (or they look simple) ... I want to dry try them first.

Hi Valentina,
I seen a lot worse from the stand point of themes. As a designer of Blogs. (you've seen the ones listed on my site) I would say to go ahead and invest in a premium theme for Wordpress. Once you purchase a theme from someone, they will usually have many more for you to choose from, making it an easy transition to change themes. Like changing your desktop image! You may have to kick a little code around, but it's going to be pretty seamless when you change. That way you don't have to struggle with re-desgning, that's really just a time killer. Get on with the Blogging!
