Hi Lissie,

Hey thanks for stopping in! Yup some big giants - but then that puts me in some very good company :-)

Thank you for the tips, especially using the term in my titles. I struggle with this and need to work on it. Have to give more thought to the titles. I often find that just by plomping Blog Income into the title the message becomes stilted and moreover manipulated. But oh yes, David & Goliath!

In the meantime I have chosen another low hanging fruit (lower actually than Blog Income) and will continue to pepper the articles with other, more competitive keywords thus setting them up for moving up the ladder.

Always a pleasure to have you here Lissie - stop by any time.

Ouch you have some serious competition for "blog income" copyblogger, problogger etc - but they aren't well optimised for the term. Make sure you use the term in your blog post titles more often and also lots of anchored backlinks too

Love the progress Valentina! Great job being so detailed in you tracking, and in your goals! For some reason, I wasn't notified about your link in a trackback, so I apologize for not stopping by sooner.

I've got to learn more from you regarding key word traffic and stuff! So much to learn, hopefully it just comes in due time.

Best, Sam

Thank you for the vote of confidence Colby ... I'm certainly not going to stop, just that those are pretty big names. I just looked at the no. 1 again, Copyblogger and he's getting this #1 spot with just one of his pages and the only time that "Blog Income" gets mentioned is in the title: Blog Money: The Income Outlook for 2009 ... and that's not even for the phrase but broad!! I will however continue to keep those that are on page 1 on my radar ... meanwhile, going for another low hanging fruit keyword phrase.

Yeah ... gotta get that dog off his keester and start working for his bones and other treats!

@Valentina, I did notice the heavy hitters near the top of page 1. I'm sure if you keep at it we'll see you at or near the top some time in the future.

Let me know when Boo Barkley finishes renovation on his site. We'd like to stop by and visit.

Welcome Colby,

You are right re the stats, and that is true in just about anything in life - big drop between No. 1 and No. 2 and look at No. 5! I only just got on page one a few days ago and the placement is not set in stone as it seems to vacillate between #5 and #10, some of that may depend on the SE I think so the info is not very supportive for that position yet - although the phrase is trending higher than the broad.

I fully agree re going for 1 on 1 ... that's going to take a looooong time: top three spots currently held by Copyblogger, Yaro Starak and John Reese ... and its not even their main domain, just specific posts! And then there are the strong up and comers like Smart Passive Income's Pat, he's firmly entrenched and once again, I don't think it was a keyword he was necessary going for (so on that note, it may be not quite as daunting a task as I think)

Right now job one is to stay on page one with lots and lots and lots of traffic - continually growing and deciding on the next keyword phrase.

Will have to get Boo Barkley to go and visit your site ... the dog has become super lazy since he's been named Top Dog of the site and the Chief Barker of his own newsletter and has neither been posting nor publishing!!! Actually, his shinnanigins have put him in the doghouse and on notice and the site is currently under reno.

Thanks for stopping in Colby, please drop by often, the door is always open here.
